Politically Correct
by Barry
S. Maltese
Where
is this world now heading
when
you must first be Politically correct
Everyone
watches every word
for
any sign of disrespect
They
examine each sentence word for word
for
some hidden negative meaning
Not
a single thought could ever survive
when
put under such a tight screening
No
matter what race, color, or creed
we
all seem to exist on the edge
Just
waiting for that one opportunity
an
excuse to push off of that ledge
Why
don't we just try working together
giving
the benefit of the doubt
And
instead of looking for a reason to fight
just
try to work these things out
If
we can all try harder to understand
without
looking for that
one thing wrong
We
would each stop seeing the differences
and
find a common reason to belong
